Welcome to this week’s edition of Five Dollar Dives, where I will be reviewing the game The Devil’s Calculator.
If you love math, then The Devil’s Calculator is for you. If math is not your thing, then this game is likely going to be a pass for you. I wanted to give this game a try as most educational games tend to fall flat. I was hoping that this game would ignite my personal interest in mathematics, but I think a passionate teacher would be able to do that much more effectively.

Since the announcement at E3 in 2014, Crackdown 3 has been in development hell for at least five years. Since then, the game has seen trouble, from numerous delays to losing its co-developer team to Epic Games. Cloudgine, which was acquired by Epic in 2018, is the company behind the cloud-based physics and destruction technology.

Black Future ’88 has been announced as coming soon to the Nintendo Switch. Developed by SuperScarySnakes and published by Good Shepherd Entertainment, the 2D synth-punk roguelike action shooter is set in a dystopian world where the year is always 1988.

After One Finger Death Punch was reviewed back in January on Five Dollar Dives, we looked in anticipation for the sequel. At the time, there wasn’t much information about it other than that it was upcoming. However, the original title is best summarized in this way: “There is a moment of calm when you first start, then the enemies start to appear. The time has come for you to unleash your fingers (or thumbs) of fury, with the results being a spectacle of bodies flying and bloodshed everywhere.”
